Axapta. Третье пришествие. Что нас ожидает?
Вот кто-то с горочки спустился | MS Navision-3 идёт | Что ищёт он в краю рассейском | И что в Рассею нам несёт? Если у кого-то есть факты/домыслы/слухи/инсайд - просьба поделиться со всеми. Не могу сформулировать просьбу точнее, так как не обладаю для этого достаточной информацией -- интересует буквально всё, в беспорядке и неосознанно: - какие произошли изменения в ядре программы? - появились ли изменения в подходах, методиках, концепциях и т.п. - что известно об изменениях в логике и модулях, о новом/исправленном фунуционале? - что там с совместимостью с БД-х (Oraqle, например)? - есть ли изменения в языке X++? - возможно ли совмещать старую логику с новым ядром? - какова стоимость перехода на 3.0 (сложностьи/время/нервы/риски)? - цена верси 3.0, когда же всё-таки можно будет купить и прочие terms? - есть ли демо-версия? - каковы отличия русской и "нерусской" версии 3.0? - насколько сырая 3.0 (стоит ли ждать 3.1 или можно рискнуть)? - что нового в интерфейсе пользователей, в клиентской програме? - чем может порадовать/огорчить разработчиков/програмистов/сисадминов - маркетиногвые изменения начиная с 3.0 - общее направление движений от версии к версии (куда движемся?) - и многое другое, что вам известно, пусть и не достоверно.

missed features
Еще можно отметить новый отличный IDE, доведенный до ума x++ (корректная компиляция модификаторов public/protected/private/final/abstract).
Коды от 2.5 не втыкаются. Почти. Тенеднции развития - в сторону .NET, как это не печально. Похоже, об интеграции с corba можно забыть. Русской версии нет и появится не скоро. Супер web-движок. Резюме: девелоперы в восторге.

А What`s new in NAx 3.0 еще 1 августа, вместе с developer edition. Апгрейд данных (рабочие данные, с приложением пока опытов не ставили) прошел без проблем (правда после того как удалось разобраться с процедурой предварительного агрейда складской аналитики - на что ушло 2-3 часа) всего за 40 мин. с перерывом на кофе на достаточно слабенькой (по современным меркам) машине. Вот такие пироги |

List of New Features in Version 3.
Application General Application • Configuration and security system – The Feature key system is replaced by a system consisting of configuration and security keys. Configuration keys are used to disable an unused functionality and are in most cases controlled by license codes. Security keys are used to restrict user group access to features through menus. • Check list – New check list to use during setup and upgrade replaces the Setup and Upgrade wizard. The Datatrim wizard has been replaced by the configuration System. The checklist provides a tool for adding items that must be part of a specific setup procedure. • Predetermined user roles – Any user can be given more than one role and the predetermined roles can be further limited or expanded. • Help system – Improved and introducing new features. o What’s this provides reference help on the field o F1 help provides the conceptual overview of the functionality o Procedural help describes how to complete a task. Follow a link from the F1 help or click Help in the status bar to get Procedural help. o Table of contents is provided. o New improved Index functionality. • Main menu – The new main menu is function oriented providing a uniform and simple structure to give the user easier access in his or her daily work. Several menus have been joined and the number of tab pages on the left side of the menu is reduced. • Data conversion - The Excel import has been rewritten for a better integration the Microsoft Office, to allow better handling of type support and a better user experience. • Data upgrade - Upgrading data is a time consuming process. To speed this up, the upgrade scripts is run in batch mode, allowing parallel execution • Record templates. It is now possible to mark a record as "default". All new records will be based upon the default. Only applicable for main and group tables. Financials Series General ledger features • Performance tuning ledger balance update & Redevelopment of the financial voucher – The financial transaction balances has been updated to better handle queuing situations and maintain real-time data availability. • Security in general journals – For security purposes, when entering journal lines, journals will be marked as ‘in use’. This means that only one user is allowed in a journal at a time. • Report Print journal in general journal – the Print Journal report has been redesigned. Its prints a simple list of the transactions entered in the journal. • Setup of Sales tax codes – The tabs General and Calculation have been restructured to ease the setup of sales tax codes. Some fields are now unavailable for input and grayed as a result of the choices made in other fields. • Fixed assets – The Fixed assets module is now a part of the standard Navision Axapta and has been included in the General ledger module. • Removed wizards – as a result of the new wizard concept, the Ledger account wizard and the Sales tax setup wizard have been removed. Account receivable features • Customer account statement external – A new report has been implemented to support the customer’s currency and language on the account statement. Payment management • Payment step – The Payment step identification form is new. The purpose is to generate the step used to set up Methods of payment. Payment step definition • Payment fee – It is now possible to create more than one fee line. • Changes – The payment method can be changed during the payment process to accommodate the options that can occur when using bills of exchange. Master planning • Master scheduling on chosen inventory dimensions • Extended setup possibilities – New functions for creating the setup data. Some areas where extended possibilities can be found are: o Main warehouse per item o Lead-time and safety margin calculations according to work days o Minimum key together with first issue when fulfilling the safety stock o Unlimited levels of main warehouse setup o Maximum keys to control the maximum on-hand level in different periods • Online updating of the net requirements profile – Just before the net requirements profile for an item, for instance a sales order, is shown, the changes are updated from the change file to the actual net profile for the item. • Improved results views - more user-friendly form where transactions are summed in different periods and only exploded into specific transactions if required. A Gantt view has been implemented for the explosion. • Improved planned order firming - The following new functions have been added to the firming process: o Split planned orders o Sum planned orders o Reschedule planned orders Project • Item integration - The item integration has been streamlined and the features available for hour, cost, and revenue transactions are now available for item transactions too. • Project validation – A new feature for defining a validation or access control setup has been added in Project. Feature, groups of employees, categories, and projects can be combined for access control and individual connections between employees, categories, and projects can be set up. • Purchase order integration – From the Project module, it is now possible to make purchase orders. • Invoice status/Line property – The functionality of the invoice status feature has been changed and is now called Line property. Line property can now be defined for both projects and categories. • Adjustment – The Adjustment feature has been updated. More than one transaction can now be selected and several parameters of the selected transaction can be adjusted at once. • New WIP project forms – WIP projects and information concerning WIP projects are now maintained in the WIP Projects window. • Project control – The field Show with the options Active and All has been added in the Project control window. • Project group – It is now possible to create a fixed-price project group where no WIP is calculated. The Split check box has been removed along with the options available with this feature. The Invoice posting field has been renamed to On-account invoicing. • Estimate template – The procedure for assigning categories for estimate lines has been streamlined to obtain a more intuitive process. • Project stages – The project stages has been removed from the Project stages window under Setup to the Project stages tab in the Project parameters window. • View ledger transactions – the Ledger transactions button in the Transactions windows has been renamed to Voucher and an extra button, Ledger updates project has been added in these windows. • Project copy wizard – As part of the general restructuring of the menus the Wizards – Project copy menu item has been removed. The Project copy wizard is now initialized from the Projects form. • Journals in Project – Have been updated. • Employee periods – The Periods feature has been updated. Periods can now be generated and updated as two separate functions. Periods can also be generated as numbers of specified units. • Project parameters – The fields Production and Planned order have been added in the Capacity planning group on the General tab in the Parameters form. • The Setup wizard has been removed. • Project consumption report – The project consumption report shows an overview of the hour, costs, and items posted to projects. • New reports – Two new reports showing Committed cost on sales order will be included. Trade & Logistics • Fixed due date – When invoicing the sales or purchase order, a fixed due date can either be set or altered. Fixed due dates override calculated due dates • Method of payment – It is possible to select or edit the method of payment in the sales and purchase process making it possible until shipment to choose another method of payment than the one transferred from the invoice account. • Austrian Packaging Duty – The functionality for handling this local requirement is present. • Inter-Company trading functionality – The ability to make trade goods – sell and purchase – between separate legal entities within the same company group. • Blanket purchasing – Similar to the functionality found in the Sales Orders, Blanket order handling capability has been added to the purchasing side as well. • Backorder Handling - It is possible to track, which items are in backorder when posting a packing slip or invoice in the sales order module. The items in backorder can be printed on the packing slip or invoice. • Late Selection - It is possible to postpone the selection of orders to update when putting i.e. an packing slip update into batch. The orders to update will not be selected until the posting of the packing slip is started, meaning that orders created after the time that the posting job was put in batch and the actual execution, will also be taken into consideration. • Order totals - When invoicing purchase orders without summary updating them, it is possible to change the calculated total discount, round off, cash discount and cash discount date. This is also possible when summary updating multiple purchase orders. • Print Management – the settings are now located on a separate form instead of on a tab in the Customers and Vendors form. • Summary update inquiry - Makes it possible to inquire about a posted journal from each sales order/purchase order that has been summarized. • Enhanced bar code setup – Bar codes are set up at a general level first and entered for the items afterwards. This means that the bar code setup can be re-used and makes it possible to define bar codes for item dimensions. • Create shipment wizard – A new wizard that helps you create a shipment. • Due items report – prints batches where the expiry date has been exceeded. • Enhanced Inventory dimensions – The configuration has been made a fully functional inventory dimension and item dimensions are supported in other areas of the application, for example in connection with price/discount and reports. • Inventory Multi Transaction System (IMTS) – ensures better scalability and response times. The IMTS is a modification to the bottom of the Inventory data model and has no visible effect on the user interface, except for the setup. • Location names per warehouse – When creating a new warehouse, the parameters specified in the Warehouse management parameters form are not as before copied automatically to the Warehouse form. In this release it is possible to specify location names per warehouse. • Number sequence caching mechanism – When setting up a number sequence, you can choose whether the number sequence is continuous or not. Caching numbers in the memory improves performance because records are only updated periodically based on the size of the group of numbers selected for pre-allocation. • Packing slip update from shipment – It is now possible to initiate the sales order packing slip update directly from the shipment when a shipment has the status packed or shipped. • Replace an item in bills of materials – It is now possible to replace an item across bills of materials (BOM), and it is also possible to replace an item from a certain date. • Show On-hand in chosen unit – In the On-hand form it is now possible to change the on-hand quantity to view it in another unit. This is useful, if e.g. the unit of a sales item is different from the inventory item. Kernel/Technology BackOffice Database access • Database views – Introduction of an Axapta interface to SQL database views – allows the developer to define named queries on the AOT based tables. • Record level security – An addition to other permission systems within the product. Makes it possible to apply constraints on what data should be visible to a given user. Management tools, setup and configuration • Database configuration/setup – An Axapta Database Creation Wizard is introduced. This feature will assist in the deployment of small installations and as an aid for setting appropriate default settings, such as sort order. • Simplifications of the process of configuring database access for the AOS and the clients. New browser facilities in the configuration utility helps locate the database which can be addressed without having to first create client setup, data sources etc. • Improved AOS cluster awareness – extended cluster facilities with mechanisms to ease modifications to an application in a running AOS cluster environment. Business Analysis • Business views - A business view is a collection of data that provides an accurate picture of a company's status. The business views contains of four forms: o Business Views: used to specify the views, as they should look like for external viewing, that should be present in the database. o Enum Labels: listing all enum values and a description for each. o Grouping: used to categorize records into groups so that they can be displayed together in a view. o Parameters: defining prefixes so that views can be grouped according to the prefix. Currently, only one parameter exists, however there will be more in Axapta 3.0. SQL • Functional indexes/case insensitivity – this will allow for maintaining case-insensitivity character strings in the database and avoid data formatting (upper/lower casing). • Multi database language support – Allows for multi-language installations to share database backend, which makes it possible to store data from different client character sets in the same database. • Array Insert – support for queuing up records in the application for fast insert of multiple records in one operation. SQL Data Dictionary • Synchronize improvements – The performance for Table layout modifications (DDL) has been improved to reduce maintenance time. The improvements covers reindexing time and certain alter table modifications. SQL Engine • Replacing ODBC with OCI - OCI will be used instead of ODBC to access Oracle databases. This replacement will result in significant improvement in quality issues. Previously, for database access, an OCI and an ODBC service should be created, before the ODBC service could be specified in the configuration utility. With this new replacement, OCI can simply be set up in Ax_Config. • Cursor repositioning within forms - Previously, when lookup was performed on data in a field, the cursor was not positioned on the expected record so the user had to scroll down to the values required. This problem has been solved by transparently maintaining two cursors. So, in the example above, one cursor is available for values " >= 'K' ", and another for " < 'K' ". This is handled by the data cache layer and the form. Enterprise Portal • Predefined roles - The Enterprise Portal will provide predefined user roles which the customer can use as they are or modify them further by adding or removing features. Included roles are: • Sales representative • Sales manager • Consultant • Customer • Vendor • HR features – The Enterprise Portal provides more or less the same features as Navision Axapta. An integrated HRM Option Pack will provide extra HR functionality. • Personalize the portal – Even within the role it is possible to personalize the information and functionality to suit the user’s individual needs. A user can chose to have only the relevant customers for his work shown on the screen. • Walk-up usage – The Enterprise Portal is easy to use even for people who are unfamiliar with Navision Axapta. No training is required. • Works out of the box – No external components or plug-ins are required. If necessary, ActiveX components can be applied using the WebTools Web application tool • Web node in the AOT – a new node has been introduced in the AOT containing the following sub-nodes: o Web forms o Web menus o Web menu functions o Web pages • Web pages – A new Web page property has been introduced: ‘Whole Page’. When set on a Web page, it will take up the entire browser window when opened. • Content management o Articles and news – the article system from Navision TechNet is part of the new WebApp Framework. The Article system is based on topics that users can subscribe to as part of personalizing their profile. o Polls – The Poll WebLet can be used to get feedback on the content (or any other issue) offered through your Web site o Discussion forum – The discussion forum from Navision TechNet has been ported to the new WebApp Framework as a WebLet, which can be inserted on a Web page. Its appearance is controlled using the property sheet. Morphx End-user improvements • Full compliance with Windows XP user interface • Personalized interface – It is now possible to reorganize tab pages, move fields from one tab to another, add fields to forms, and add user defined text. • Caching of display methods – Providing improved performance of display and edit functions as they are calculated less frequently and less client/server traffic is required. • Query dialog – The usability has been improved with two new features: a new saving format, which is not dependant on the query version number, and improved keyboard access, availing of the standard create and delete functionality. • Print from both client and server printers – The print dialog now provides the user with the option of printing on both the client and server printers. • Zoom and copy to clipboard – When previewing a report, it is possible to zoom in and out using the context menu. The context menu also allows the user to copy text from a report to the clipboard. • Visual report designer - Improved graphic support in reports. • Hierarchic sums – A new feature with the possibility to interpret a field as being composed of a number of sub-fields. Development environment improvements Improvements in the Application Object Tree • Default properties - Property values differing from the default value are shown in the property sheet using a bold font, thereby making it easier to identify which changes have been made to the elements. Furthermore, since default values are not sent between client and server, the load time of forms and reports is smaller. • Improved AOT export/import: o Checkbox for choosing the export/import of elements with ID's o Possibility to export only the project definition, instead of all objects contained in the project. o Option to lock exported elements. • Compiler output – An output window for the compiler has been created displaying what is currently being complied, the status, any errors found, any violations of Axapta best practices, as well as a TODO list. • Automatic declaration of variables in reports Improvements to the code editor: • One editor for each form, report etc, providing an instant overview of all code within a given element, meaning that whenever a process node with sub elements is edited, all methods are now edited in the same editor. • Lookup and jump-to method facility improved – The editor now supports lookup on the ‘element’ and ‘this’ keywords. Furthermore lookup on return values is supported. The Jump-to method now also jumps to methods defined on base classes. • Syntax check while you type – When performing a lookup and when entering a new line character, the code is recompiled. A red wavy line highlights the line containing the error. New debugger A new debugger has been implemented, making it possible to debug X++ code running on the AOS within a three-tier environment or in the Axapta Business Connector. The X++ debugger is now a standalone application, meaning that the new X++ debugger offers true debugging of the X++ code without interfering with the message processing in Axapta. |

Тут уже все сказано.
Остался, пожалуй, один вопрос: каковы отличия [будущей] "русской" и "нерусской" версий? Очевидно, точно такие же, как между "русской" и "нерусской" 2.5. А если говорить о различиях собственно в локализации, то это:

Все это хорошо... Вот только намечается явное сокращение срока жизни системы. Ибо к 2006 году MSB планирует завершить разработку и выпустить свой новый продукт на платформе - .NET Затем, очевидно, история повторится С уважением. |
