We all have trouble to find the correct function in a DLL. There is simply no in telly morph available on that point. Let’s take this example: I was analysing the function key integration in some forms of AX. They use the axhotkey.DLL for that (class jmgFkeyHandler). From AX point of view you don’t know what kinds of other function are available in that DLL.
However there are some handy tools on the internet that can help you out:

The first screenshot shows the hotkey DLL used in AX 3.0 the next screenshot shows the DLL function in 4.0.

 
So now I know for sure that the 3.0 solution is not compatible with AX 4.0. Because the DLL funtions are not there anymore.
